Atcha Blacklock is co-owner and Operations Director at The Little Red Wagon. She has over ten years of experience working with children. She received her Bachelors in Education from a university in Thailand. Atcha came to the U.S. in 1998 as a teacher at the Thai temple in Berkeley where she taught in a classroom of preschool-aged children. Atcha’s love for children is evident as soon as you see her with them. Her gentle yet persistent manner enables her to use positive and effective discipline in a loving way. She spends her spare time gardening, cooking, playing badminton, and entertaining friends.
Stephanie Brown is co-owner and the Administrative Director. After 15 years in the software industry, she decided to switch gears to become a teacher. She holds a Bachelor's of Science in Biology from Harvard-Radcliffe College. In 2003, Stephanie received her Masters in Education and California teaching credential from U.C. Berkeley. She has also worked as a research associate at UCB’s Graduate School of Education focusing on young students’ learning through scientific inquiry. She taught 5th grade at Washington Elementary in Alameda. With a five-year old son, she has a great appreciation for the needs of working families and childcare challenges. Stephanie is a violinist and singer with Mariachi Ortega and enjoys sharing her love of music with the children.
Tew Pakawongse is Head Teacher and Program Director. She has extensive training in Early Childhood Education from Merritt College and Montessori training through Washington Montessori School. Tew was most recently Head Teacher and co-director at Growing Light Montessori in Oakland. Since 1992, she has been Head Teacher at various schools in the Bay Area including The Model School in Berkeley, Honeybee Childcare Center and Duck’s Nest Preschool. In addition to her many years of experience in the classroom, Tew has developed preschool curricula, managed a staff of preschool teachers and started a Spanish Immersion program at Growing Light. She is passionate about teaching young children.
